Annual Report FY26
PHASE II, CONTENT DEVELOPMENT
Through three inaugural storylines—Asian American Dining, Black Excellence in Art, and Hospitality for LGBTQ+ Communities— Lightkeepers highlights individuals whose passions, talents, and perspectives help shape Greater Portland’s identity and visitor experience. Through cinematic video, photography, interviews, and written storytelling, these stories create a more authentic and representative portrayal of the destination while building a strong content foundation for future audience-specific marketing efforts.
ASIA N AMERICAN DINING Bounahcree Kim, Oun Lidos Bounahra Kim, Miyake Reo Miyake, Aomori
The interwoven stories of two brothers, both rising culinary stars, being passed the torch by the original trailblazers of the Portland food scene. One is set to launch a place of his own. The other to become the head chef of one of the most beloved restaurants in town. Meanwhile, their former mentor is reinventing himself after 3 decades as a trailblazer of the scene. This story will give us the opportunity to feature behind-the-scenes access to both the well-known culinary classics (Miyake) and the newest exciting endeavors (Oun Lidos, Aomori) that Portland has to offer. Libby Davis, Lady Shuckers Oyster Farm and Mobile Raw Bar As the city has grown and embraced the LGBTQ+ communities, it has gone from a place where you could find respite in a few gay/ lesbian bars into an entire city itself that has become a LGBTQ+ bastion in an otherwise rural state. The streets themselves are now welcoming spaces for all. Some might describe Portland’s queer scene as “integrated,” but the city is still home to decidedly queer spaces that are open, safe havens for people to come and be themselves without fear.
