THE PURPOSE Expand Greater Portland’s visibility among a diverse network of meeting professionals while fostering meaningful relationships that support the attraction of meetings, conferences, and events. Through engagement with NCBMP, Visit Portland strengthens its commitment to ensuring that a broad range of planners and organizations are aware of and consider Greater Portland as a destination for their events. OUR STRATEGY Leverage NCBMP membership to build connections with meeting professionals, increase destination awareness, and participate in industry conversations that promote inclusion and representation within the meetings sector. Through networking, educational opportunities, digital visibility, and conference participation, Visit Portland expands its reach, cultivates new business opportunities, and reinforces Greater Portland’s reputation as a welcoming destination for meetings and events.
OVERVIEW Visit Portland maintains membership with the National Coalition of Black Meeting Professionals to access a national network of meeting planners and industry professionals. Membership provides opportunities for digital exposure, educational webinars, virtual networking, and participation in the organization’s annual conference. Through this engagement, Visit Portland strengthens relationships with a broader and more diverse audience while advancing efforts to attract inclusive and representative meetings and events to the region. HIGHLIGHTS & RESULTS: • Maintained active membership with NCBMP throughout 2026. • Expanded visibility among a diverse national audience of meeting professionals. • Participated in educational and networking opportunities designed to strengthen industry relationships. • Supported Visit Portland’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion within the meetings and events industry. • Increased opportunities to connect with meeting planners and decision makers beyond traditional industry channels.
