COMMUNITY CLEAN UP DAY

THE PURPOSE The purpose of this initiative is to demonstrate the tourism industry’s commitment to the community by actively contributing to the care and stewardship of shared public spaces. OUR STRATEGY Visit Portland engages staff in volunteer efforts and aligns participation with broader industry moments to amplify the message that tourism supports and invests in the community. Through collaboration and participation, we strengthen connections between residents, businesses, and the visitor economy.

OVERVIEW: Visit Portland participates in the Great Portland Pick Up with the Portland Parks Conservancy, aligning the effort with National Travel and Tourism Week and reinforcing the message that “Tourism Cares.” This initiative provides a hands-on opportunity to support the community, enhance public spaces, and demonstrate the positive impact of tourism, while fostering civic pride and engagement across Greater Portland.
