THE PURPOSE Increase Greater Portland’s visibility among qualified meeting and event planners while generating opportunities to attract conferences, meetings, and group business that drive overnight visitation and economic impact. OUR STRATEGY Leverage Cvent to connect with planners actively sourcing destinations and venues for future events. By maintaining a strong presence on the platform, showcasing local hotels and meeting facilities, and responding quickly to qualified opportunities, we increase destination consideration, strengthen planner relationships, and generate group business for the region.
OVERVIEW Visit Portland utilizes Cvent to connect with meeting planners actively searching for destinations, venues, and accommodations. As a key component of our group sales strategy, the platform generates qualified RFP opportunities, increases exposure for local partners, and supports the attraction of meetings and events to Greater Portland. During the reporting period, increases in RFP activity, room nights, and total RFP value demonstrated the platform’s effectiveness in driving group business. PLATFORM INSIGHTS Cvent provides access to a highly targeted audience of event planners while offering tools to showcase Greater Portland’s hotels, venues, and destination assets. The platform also delivers valuable market data that helps inform sales strategies, identify opportunities, and strengthen the region’s competitiveness within the meetings industry.
