WADSWORTH- LONGFELLOW HOUSE / MHS Henry Wadsworth- Longfellow’s boyhood home is the oldest structure standing on Portland’s peninsula. Maine Historical Society exhibits explore the

MECA & ICA Maine College of Art is also home to the Institute of Contemporary Art featuring galleries that showcase student projects and several exhibits, which display contemporary art pieces. Located in a spectacular Beaux Arts-style building, these art centers solidly anchor the Arts District.

THE PORTLAND PUBLIC LIBRARY Chartered in 1867, the oldest and largest library in the state underwent a monumental modernization in 2010. Free WiFi, a street front area to enjoy coffee or food, and access to online international libraries makes it a perfect spot in which to read, relax, or people watch.
