THE WAY A STATE

SHOULD BE …AND IS ! There's always more to explore in Maine—Vacationland awaits!

MAINE BEACHES Breathtaking coastal scenery and long stretches of sandy beach are studded with charming arts towns and seaside communities. Old Orchard Beach is fun for the whole family, with a boardwalk and amusement park. Take in a Broadway musical at the Ogunquit Playhouse, explore history at the Brick Store Museum in Kennebunk, and hop a ride on the Seashore Trolley. Kittery’s outlets are the gateway to great shopping in antiques shops and local boutiques south of Portland.

MAINE LAKES + MOUNTAINS From the colorful wild flowers of spring to the stunning white snow- scapes of winter, western Maine is truly a year- round destination. Enjoy some of the best skiing in the East, or canoe, kayak and chill out in crystal- clear glacial lakes. For history, visit Poland Spring Preservation Park and Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village. Wind through brilliant fall foliage to try your luck at Oxford Casino or go see a moose up close at the Maine Wildlife Park.

MID-COAST Featuring some of the most picturesque harbors in Maine, the Mid-Coast’s culture and heritage is strongly linked to its maritime history, brought to life at Maine Maritime Museum in Bath. The meandering paths of Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens burst with blooms as the walls of Farnsworth Art Museum and Wyeth Center explode with art. Kids will love the transport ation museums in Alna, Boothbay, and Owls Head. In summer, take in a Broadway-quality show at Maine State Music Theatre.
