SCARBOROUGH BEACH STATE PARK

Small park with lovely sandy beach. Take Rt 1 to Rt 207 in Scarborough. 15 min. S of Portland. SCARBOROUGH MARSH Maine’s largest salt marsh is best explored by canoe. Nature center offers slideshows, exhibits. Rt 1 Scarborough. 883-5100 SCARBOROUGH RIVER WILDLIFE SANCTUARY 56 acres featuring 1 ½ miles of trails for hiking and x-country skiing. PRESUMPSCOT RIVER PRESERVE

WOLFE NECK WOODS STATE PARK

3 ½ mile wooded trail network offers spectacular river views. Located in both Portland and Falmouth, access is from Overset Rd, Portland. 808-5400
