BUG LIGHT PARK Shoreline walkway provides excellent views of Portland’s waterfront and active harbor. In South Portland, off Broadway. CRESCENT BEACH STATE PARK Family beach, 8 mi. Park & Forest Avenues in Portland. 874-8793 EAST END BEACH Portland’s only public beach has parking and a boat launch. Located at the bottom of the hill of the Eastern Promenade. SCARBOROUGH BEACH STATE PARK
Small park with lovely sandy beach. Take Rt 1 to Rt 207 in Scarborough. 15 min. S of Portland. SCARBOROUGH MARSH Maine’s largest salt marsh is best explored by canoe. Nature center offers slideshows, exhibits. Rt 1 Scarborough. 883-5100 SCARBOROUGH RIVER WILDLIFE SANCTUARY 56 acres featuring 1 ½ miles of trails for hiking and x-country skiing.
