GET ACTIVE at Pineland Farms where you can tour a working farm and creamery, and enjoy activities from cross-country skiing to mountain biking upon 5,000 acres of beautiful woodlands and fields in New Gloucester. TAKE A FUN and informative land or sea tour (or both!) of Portland via trolley, tour boat, duck boat, or fine engine— most leave from Commercial Street at regularly scheduled times.

TAKE THE TRAIN to Old Orchard Beach and hop on one of the thrilling rides at Palace Playland that overlook the ocean. Soak up the sun on the seven mile stretch of sandy beach, and watch fireworks light up the sky every Thursday night. WALK OUT the 900 foot granite breakwater at Spring Point Ledge in South Portland to watch sailboats, ferries, cruise ships, and oil tankers ply the waters of busy Portland harbor. DON SKATES to engage in a Portland tradition since the 1900s—gliding on the pond at Deering Oaks Park or visit the outdoor rink at Thompson’s Point. FLY A KITE at Bug Light Park in South Portland where kids can run around on 4 acres of plush, sea-level grass surrounded by magnificent views of Casco Bay and Portland’s waterfront.

CATCH THE EXCITEMENT at a home game of the Maine Mariners, Maine’s professional American Hockey League team, as they take to the ice at Cross Insurance Areana in downtown Portland. SPACE OUT at an astronomy show at Southworth Planetarium and geek out at other nature shows about the human body, dinosaurs, and more. EXPLORE THE BLOOMING Children’s Garden at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens where children use their imagination for play and discovery, delight in the wonders of nature, and enjoy fun and educational activities.

INTERACT WITH EXHIBITS at the Children’s Museum + Theatre of Maine where kids learn from hands-on exploration.
