WHAT DID THE PROJECT ENTAIL? Visit Portland partnered with acclaimed

photographer Séan Alonzo Harris for a photoshoot designed to capture the authentic diversity present within our Portland, Maine community. As a Black photographer, inclusivity is built into Séan’s artistic vision, making him the ideal collaborator to portray the inclusive nature of our welcoming destination. His work has appeared in publications such as The Atlantic, Harvard Ed Magazine, Mother Jones, CBS Watch, Ralph Lauren Magazine, and Maine Home + Design . Furthermore, Harris’s images are held in the esteemed collections of institutions like the Portland Museum of Art, Colby College Museum of Art, the Farnsworth Museum, the David Driskell Collection at the University of Maryland, Bates College Museum of Art, and the Center for Black Visual Culture at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, underscoring his significant contributions to visual storytelling.
