SPORTS COMMISSION RESULTS

WHAT DID THE MARKETING EFFORT ENTAIL? Visit Portland was the founding organization for the Maine Sports Commission and currently holds a permanent seat on the board. We securing venues, lodging, and logistics for group sporting events—ranging from baseball tournaments to 5Ks and swim races—including permits, police escorts, and, for larger events, tents, catering, and post-race celebrations.

HOW DID IT MAKE AN IMPACT? These sporting events helped the local economy by bringing in more activity and business—keeping local crews busy across hospitality, event services, and vendors. They also encouraged health and wellness by giving Mainers chances to take part in or enjoy active, community-driven events.
