BUDGET INSIGHTS + FINANCIAL OUTLOOK BUDGET OVERVIEW

MAINE OFFICE OF TOURISM GRANT $250,000 annually

Visit Portland’s financial resources are derived from three primary sources, each supporting different aspects of our mission to promote Greater Portland as a vibrant, year-round destination. OPERATING BUDGET $1.1 million annually Funded through the investment of our dues-paying partners, this budget supports Visit Portland’s destination marketing and management efforts. These include promotional campaigns, sales outreach, media relations, visitor services, partner programs, and organizational operations. Partner contributions are the foundation of our mission to drive tourism and economic impact throughout Greater Portland.

This funding is part of the Maine Tourism Marketing Partnership Program (MTMPP), which supports eight tourism regions across the state. Visit Portland is the official organization designated to implement and manage the MTMPP grant for the Greater Portland region. The grant is designated for strategic marketing projects that extend the reach and visibility of our region across key target markets. All efforts are managed with oversight and alignment to the Maine Office of Tourism’s statewide tourism goals. (Visit Portland is also responsible for the cash match required per the grant guidelines.)
