KEY INITIATIVES + IMPACT

Germany | November 9-16, 2024 Overview: Visit Portland joined 5 destinations, including Maine Office of Tourism, to promote New England on the Autobahn, covering 1,900 miles. We connected with tour operators and agents in several cities, introducing Portland to key European markets and expanding international partnerships. Total Attendees: 7 representatives from 5 New England States Tour + Media Companies: 50 One-on-One Appointments: The delegation met with more than 105 industry representatives. Networking Highlights: Approximately 2,000 miles covered on the Autobahn, presenting/training German Tour Operators on our destinations. Over 7 trainings were conducted, 4 Media and client dinners were hosted and the team reached over 200 travel professionals in the country by way of this mission.

2024-2025 Overview: Through GET IT ACROSS (DNE’s agency), our German rep presented a Norwegian Cruise Line training in March to key European tour operators. Though focused on Boston as a tour hub, he also highlighted Bar Harbor/Acadia and Port land—both featured in many NCL itineraries— reaching staff from Germany, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Norway, and the UK. Norwegian Cruise Lines MEET Boston Presentation GIA representative Andreas Niehoerster included Portland in his Meet Boston presentation outlining our City Loop transportation and highlighting Portland as a must see port for NCL passengers. 2024/2025 Newsletters: • September newsletter 2024 - opening rate: 29.2% 3,500 recipients) • November 2024 newsletter - opening rate: 3.1% 3,533 recipients) • May 2025 Newsletter (numbers pending)
